Know your trail
Know which trail you are on
Named trail lines on the ride map, and faint trail lines under the dots on the radar.
When your park has mapped its trails, the ride map draws them with their names, and the radar dish carries a faint copy of the same lines under the vehicle dots — so you can tell whether that dot is on your trail or on the one across the ravine.
- Optional, off by default: with trail-aware alerts switched on in Settings, alerts stand down only when two riders are confidently on different mapped trails, away from any junction. Everything else alerts.
- Learning mode — “Help map this park's trails” — records your track without your identity so the park can draw its map. Turn it off in Settings.
Privacy by design
No big brother. Period.
HeadzUp communicates proximity in real time. Your park gains trail awareness, and what it keeps is written down rather than left to guesswork.
- Your route is never saved to your rider account — there is no ride history in the app, and no replay for anyone to scroll through.
- If your park turns on trail mapping, it keeps position data for its own trail work. That data belongs to the park, and the privacy policy says what is kept and who can see it — ask your park for its retention period.

What makes HeadzUp different from other apps?
It is built for off-road parks, not roads. It needs no cell coverage, and it tells you when another HeadzUp vehicle is near — including one you cannot see.
Does HeadzUp work without cell service?
Yes. Your phone talks to the Rider Unit over Bluetooth, and the units talk to each other over long-range radio. No tower, no Wi-Fi, no data plan.
Will HeadzUp drain my phone's battery?
It uses Bluetooth and GPS while you ride, and it is built to last a riding day. Start with a full charge, like any ride.
What is the battery life of the Rider Unit?
A charged unit covers a full ride day. Top it up the night before; the app shows its charge state.
How far in advance does HeadzUp detect other vehicles?
You choose the alert distance, 150 to 1,000 feet. Open ground carries further than a ravine or thick woods.
Is HeadzUp compatible with my device?
iPhone on iOS 16.6 or newer, Android 8.0 or newer. Bluetooth and location permission are required.
How do I mount HeadzUp on my vehicle?
Anywhere flat on the machine, or in your pocket. Keep it away from hot surfaces.
Can I use HeadzUp for group rides?
